Double degrees from the Omnes group: What are they?

This means that they can obtain two different degrees simultaneously by following two complementary study programs, in related or distinct fields. They will receive official recognition for each diploma at the end of their educational journey.

The main objective of dual degrees is to either provide students with multidisciplinary training, thereby broadening their skills and knowledge in varied fields, or to deepen their knowledge in a specific field.

Finance & Quantitative Engineering major

The Finance & Quantitative Engineering major is the combination of artificial intelligence and automated service networks/distributed data (“blockchains”) leading to a transfiguration of banking, financial and insurance professions.

  • The MSc “Cloud Computing” aims to master the advantages and dangers of life through mathematical approaches, tame maths through numerical analysis and stochastic simulation techniques, transform fears into tractable multidimensional models, learn to frame risks through quantitative and analytical thinking.
  • For the head of the Finance & Quantitative Engineering Major, this specialization corresponds to: “Designing, modeling and quantifying the drivers and dangers of finance in digital society in order to optimize the use of human intelligence.”

Data & AI major

The Data & AI major trains engineers who are capable of supporting companies in their digital transformation efforts through the implementation of “Datalakes” projects and analytical applications.

  • The Data & AI Major aims to:
    understand
the limits of vertical growth of information systems,
    to master
Big Data frameworks like Hadoop and Spark, understand the concepts of Big Data and the mechanisms of data governance and master Machine Learning algorithms and data analysis and manipulation tools (R, Spark, Python, Matlab, etc.)
  • For the head of this Data & AI major “Data is the black gold of the 21st century. We must understand and master the technologies that make it possible to collect it, secure it, analyze it and extract information from it.”

Cybersecurity major

The objective of Cybersecurity training is to enable students to understand IT security and cybersecurity issues and learn to develop the technological knowledge necessary to deal with cyber threats.

  • By choosing this double degree, students will benefit from a wide range of skills covering technologies, user experience design, digital engineering, agile development practices and business vision. For the manager of this major “The product is the reason for being of a company. It covers the vision, the offer and the value proposition in a generalist approach. This product approach brings together the best of the engineering professions , product marketing and design.”

Cloud Engineering & Management major

The main objective of this training is to train cloud engineers, true conductors, who “are in charge of the deployment, storage and management of data on servers located outside the company in data centers,… , specialist in algorithms, programming and architecture of software and networks” according to the CIDJ (Youth Information and Documentation Center)

  • This course is based on 3 main objectives: Develop the cloud strategy of a company or organization (in line with its security and data objectives), design, implement and operate cloud solutions (design and use of suitable algorithms, design and implementation of suitable architectures, cloud native approaches, etc.) and manage a project and a team
  • For the head of this major “The Cloud is not data wandering somewhere in the sky. It is the moving of your data and your calculations from your company to another company.” Cloud computing provides scalable computing resources on demand, supplying both science and business with solutions and challenges.

Energy & Environment major

The main objective of this program is to train students to cover all the “high-tech” professions of energy production, its distribution, and consumption control. It is based on a body of knowledge essential to any energy engineer, which ranges from thermodynamics to materials science, from fossil energy sources to renewable energies, from control and control in nuclear production to intelligent electricity distribution networks. (Smart Grid).

  • This Energy & Environment Major draws on ECE’s expertise in information systems, embedded systems and telecommunications. In addition, it is based on 4 main objectives: Master all technical, economic and financial aspects of the energy sector (production, transport, storage, distribution, uses, etc.) but also the energy of homes, cities, ICT, etc., Identify the main issues, levers and constraints of energy transition policies, Anticipate changes and innovations in the energy sector, and Acquire essential skills for energy managers: purchasing and logistics, regulatory and legal aspects, financial approaches, project management, negotiation, communication, innovation.
