What are the important dates and times for the Sesame 2022-2023 competition ?
Although the Sésame exam has been held every year since 1992, the dates of the exams vary each session. Consequently, the dates for registration, receipt of invitations and release of results also differ. All candidates who wish to participate in the competition must be aware of these dates.
As a reminder, the Sesame competition has very strict rules regarding these different dates. Once registration is closed, candidates must wait until the next session to register and take the exam. Also, all tests are held on single dates , with no opportunity to make up tests, regardless of the reason.

From what date can I register for the Sesame 2022-2023 competition?
Who can register?
The Sésame competition is open to all students in their final year of high school and to holders of the French baccalaureate. Foreign candidates with a diploma equivalent to the French baccalaureate are also eligible for the competition.
For senior students, obtaining the baccalaureate is mandatory in addition to passing the competitive exam. Without this, it will be impossible for them to enter one of the grandes écoles accessible via the competitive entrance exam, includingESCE.
When can I register?
If the calendar changes from one session to another, in general, registrations are made from mid-January to mid-June. to mid-March. This corresponds to the period for formulating vows on Parcoursup.
For the 2022-2023 session, registration for the Sesame exam will be from Wednesday, January 18 to Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Applicants will then have until Thursday, April 6 to confirm their wishes on Parcoursup.
How to register?
The registration procedure for the Sesame exam is the same for all candidates, regardless of their profile. This begins with registration and the creation of an application file on the Parcoursup website.
On the platform, candidates can indicate their choice of courses or schools and modify them as they wish. However, the choice of wishes must be confirmed before the end of the period provided for this purpose. This year, the confirmation of wishes on Parcoursup can be done until Thursday April 6th.
What are the dates of the written and oral exams for the Sesame 2022 competition?
The course of the different tests
The Sesame exams take place on different dates , but all are held on the same day. Also, in practice, the competition includes three different tests : a technical test, written tests and oral tests.
Candidates take the written tests at the same time, on the same date and regardless of their location. For all candidates, whether they live in France or abroad, the written tests are done online, via the TestWe software.
Prior to the publication of the results of the written tests, the participants’ applications are reviewed and scored. This score will also be taken into account in determining the list of candidates eligible for the oral tests.
Unlike the written exams, the oral exams take place on different dates depending on the school. Moreover, they take place on the campuses and according to the procedures set by the organizingschool . For the 2022-2023 session of the Sesame exam, the written and oral tests will be held on the following dates
- Saturday April 1, 2023: mandatory technical test TestWe on my computer
- Wednesday, April 12: remote written tests via TestWe
- Thursday, April 27 to Tuesday, May 16: oral tests in schools
Are there several dates to take the oral exams for the Sesame 2022 competition?
The oral exams take place on different dates according to the procedures set by each school. Thus, candidates take the orals on different days and at different times. However, the tests are always done in one day.
Candidates find out if they are admitted to the oral exams by looking at the eligibility results. Then, those who are admitted must make an appointment to take the oral tests, again according to the established schedule . They will receive an invitation confirming the date, time and place of the tests.
Date and schedule, when will Sesame 2022 candidates be able to consult their results?
The results of the Sésame exam are usually published a few weeks after the end of the oral exams. For the 2021-2022 session, the results were released on Thursday, June 2. In any case, the results of each session of the Sesame exam are published well before the beginning of the school year in September.
