ESCE – 43 years of experience and expertise in international business.
With over 43 years of experience in higher education, ESCE is renowned amongst the Grandes Ecoles, or Graduate Business Schools, for its international dimension and the quality of its programmes.
Key Dates:
- 1968: Upon the initiative of the French Committee for International Trade (CFCE), four management professors – Guisseppe Bufo, Christian Martres, Jean Raby and Jean Meimon – founded ESCE, the first business school to specialise in International Trade in France.
- 1975: The programme was extended to three years of higher education.
- 1986: Partnership agreements were signed with more than 60 foreign partner universities to facilitate student exchanges.
- 1991: The programme was extended to four years of higher education. The School obtained state recognition on July 18, 1991.
- 1992: ESCE was one of the schools which founded the SESAME national entrance examination (for admission in to first year).
- 1995: ESCE moved into the University Pole of Leonard da Vinci in La Défense.
- 1996: The ESCE 4-year degree was certified by the French Ministry of Education on July 19, 1996
- 1999: ESCE opened a study centre in Lyon at the University of Jean Moulin Lyon 3, the most international university in the Rhone-Alpes region.
- 1999: ESCE became an apprenticeship centre for small-business management, allowing graduate students to follow two years of studies under an apprenticeship contract.
- 2001: ESCE became a member of the Laureate International Universities Group, one of the world leaders of private higher education.
- 2004: ESCE opened a parallel-admission programme with UIBE, Pekin.
- 2006: ESCE was authorised to grant a five-year higher education degree by the French Ministry of Education, positioning ESCE within the terms of the Bologna Accord of 1999.
- 2006: ESCE opened a parallel-admission programme with the Université del Valle, Mexico.
- 2008: ESCE opened a parallel-admission programme withy the University of Anhembi Morumdi, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
- 2009: ESCE is authorized to award the Master’s degree .
- 2012: ESCE is officially admitted to the Conference des Grandes Ecoles.
