The Majors

The goals of the Second Cycle of Studies (4th and 5th year) are: first, help students acquire further understanding of international corporate life and related factors, and second, develop their specialization. The final 2 years see students taking a close look at the strategic aspects of corporate life, gleaning a global understanding of corporate situations and honing their decision-making skills.

A further purpose of the Second Cycle is to help students acquire a clear understanding of their Career Project, thus positioning them optimally to find fulfilling work on graduating from ESCE.

Our focus is on “learning by doing” (case studies, group work, market studies, corporate role-play, field studies, export assignments, etc.); we believe this is the best way to acquire the tools and methods required in the corporate world.

During 4th year and 5th year, students must take the following mandatory courses:

International Trade Major

Goals:
Make sure that future international trade managers have the necessary skills to manage an international program from start to finish:

  • Selecting the optimal sales channels, and managing partnerships and subsidiaries internationally.
  • Monitoring business development by using tried and trusted business methodologies.
  • Good preparation practices for international operations and contractual expertise required to ensure successful execution of an international operation.

Goals:
The purpose of the ESCE Marketing major is to give students the tools and methods they need to make informed marketing decisions:

Goals:
The goals of the ESCE SCM major is to make sure students understand the detailed workings of corporations, and acquire the following skills:

The purpose of the Business Creation and Rescue major is to heighten student awareness of what Entrepreneurship entails, demystifying the steps involved in setting up a business, and fostering students desire to become entrepreneurs.

Auditing and Consulting steam

Goals:
Run in partnership with KPMG, this major prepares students for the following:

  • Measuring, controlling and forecasting a company’s operating income (management indicator, financial risk control and discrepancies with forecasts).
  • Harmonizing in-company financial and accounting procedures, and supervising the closing of accounts.
  • Financial reporting to the Management Board (monthly analysis, preparing financial and economic studies, business activity summary reports, etc.).
  • Helping operatives perform analyses; developing company business; developing steering tools and functionalities (information system, dashboards, etc.); advising deciders (directors, department managers, unit managers) when taking decisions to calculate the financial cost, evaluate risks and suggest alternatives; analyze malfunctions in management procedures, organization procedures or work methods (checking the reliability of financial information, quality of processes, checking accounts, measuring legal and regulatory risks, etc.).
  • Making recommendations to the supervisor (board of directors) leading to improvements or adjustments to make given regulatory or performance imperatives.

Goals:
The general goal of this broad-ranging major is to make sure students acquire all the skills that the manager of an international team needs to meet goals. Specifically, this involves:
